Every parent wants to make sure his or her kids ride with proper fitting motocross gear. The problem is, kids grow like weeds and it can cost big buck to keep them in properly fitting MX gear. The cost of quality motocross gear can cost as much as the bike over a few years.
Fortunately you can buy one AFX helmet and swap out the cheek pads and liner to create 3-different youth helmets sizes with the same shell. It is called the AFX Youth Liner System (YLS) and it is included in the FX-20Y full-face helmet, FX-17Y, FX-18Y, FX19Yand FX-35 off-road helmets for youths. You can transform any AFX helmet that is equipped with the YLS to any of the three youth sizes; Youth Small, Youth Medium and Youth Large within the same protective shell (see the size chart for details).
The initial helmet will cost about $80 and the liner system costs about $35. This could save you $90 over three helmet sizes, for a total cost of $150 as opposed to 3-helmets for $240. It will still be painful keeping you kid in propery size youth motocross gear but the AFX YLS will take some of the sting out replacing helmets.
